5 September 2011 – New Generations

After you view/hear/read the program and this week’s features, please join the Discussion Group and post your comments by clicking on “Add a reply.” (This is also how our E-Club verifies attendance for Club Members and visiting Rotarians making up a meeting with us.)

September is New Generations Month in Rotary; in the past year or so, Rotary International (RI) took what was called “Youth Service,” elevated it to the level of a fifth full-fledged Avenue of Service, and renamed it New Generations Service. This week’s program offers a plethora (good word, eh?) of links about different aspects of New Generations activities available to Rotary Clubs. What’s your great idea to get our E-Club involved with youth?

Here is RI’s main page about Interact, including a great video about an Interact Club in France.

Here is RI’s main page about Rotary Youth Exchange.

The middle of every month, Rotary International sends out an e-mail New Generations Newsletter. Here is the August 2011 edition, worth a look for ideas.

And please enjoy the above video, the centerpiece of this week’s program. Rotary’s World Peace Centers are a program which, truly, only Rotary could manage to create and run successfully. While this is not a New Generations program per se, this is about the future.  An upcoming program of this E-Club will (we hope) include a conversation with a Rotary Peace Fellow, a graduate of the program.
