Rotary Club of the Week for 29 August 2011

It is our privilege to introduce you to The Rotary Club of Degerfors, Sweden and our friend Karin Janzon!

What is the name of your Rotary Club?

The Rotary Club of Degerfors.

What is the town or city, or the part of a city, the state or province, and the country?

Degerfors, Sweden, District 2340.

When were you chartered?

October, 1956.

Who is the current President?  (If it’s not you, what is your role in the Club, now or in the past?)

Ing-Marie Larsson is our President.

I´m the chair of Membership/PR committee in the district and I´m also DGN.

How many members are in your Club?

We are at the moment 25 members and the average age is 59.

What is your Club’s website address, and does your Club have a Facebook Page?

Our Club’s website is http://www.rotary.se/Degerfors  (no Facebook page yet)

When and where do you meet?

We have our meeting at Degernäs Gård on Tuesdays at lunch.

What is your favorite Club project?  Or your favorite two, we know it’s hard sometimes to pick just one.

We have a twin club in England Swindon RC. Our most interesting project is together with them. It´s a youth project, two young talented soccer players go over to Swindon for two weeks and play with the youths there and next spring two youths from Swindon will come to Degerfors to do the same.

Can you please attach a photo of your Club’s trading banner or logo?

See below.

What else do you want our E-Club Members, Rotarian visitors, and guests to know about your Club?

Our club meetings are very friendly and we are like a big family with a lot of laughs.

If your E-club is interested in our programs , perhaps I can send over them when I find something you could be interested in. [Editor’s note: Yes, please!]
