Funds we raise will go right into the community for our projects.

Members brought empty used prescription-type pill bottles to the July Fourth Sunday for donation to The Malawi Project, coordinated by our Member Brenda Bradford. Here’s a complete explanation of the why and how of this easy project, which we will continue into the future.  CLICK HERE.

At each Fourth Sunday Meeting, one of our Club Members will present a miniature (five-minute) version of a Rotary Club tradition: the Craft Talk. This is one way for our Members to learn about each other and from a stronger team.

For July 2015, we learned all about Judy Glickman!

Our Club is lucky to have found a community partner in Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind, located in Reseda. Their mission is to create “a supportive and encouraging environment for those with developmental disabilities and blindness.” TLC recently celebrated its fortieth anniversary of doing great work for a deeply underserved portion of our local world.

Two years ago we were fortunate to participate in the District Community Grant process by building TLC a new library, stocked with braille and printed-word books, for their expanding facility. We have hoped to find more ways to work with TLC and the people they serve.

Cyndi McAuley, TLC’s Executive Director and a friend to our Club, was kind enough to be the special guest speaker for our monthly Fourth Sunday gathering on July 26, 2015, in The Fireplace Room at Denny’s in Sherman Oaks. Cyndi educated us about what TLC does, who they serve, and how we can help.

Cyndi with President Roy and the book we will donate in her name to Reach Out And Read Los Angeles.
