THIS WEEK’S PROGRAM

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is due for some major modernization. It is the busiest airport in the United States West, but sees more travelers pass through on an annual basis than it can easily sustain in its current form.

Fellow Rotarian Diana Sanchez, a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Van Nuys, serves as the Public and Community Relations Director for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), which operates LAX and Van Nuys Airport. Diana visited our Club as special guest speaker for our Fourth Sunday Meeting on 23 April 2017 in The (What Happened To The Fireplace) Room at Denny’s in Sherman Oaks, California.

Please note that our loyal but…um…seasoned video camera does not always enjoy working with the bright lights of a PowerPoint presentation on a screen, so we ask that you bear with some scattered moments of technical difficulties with the visuals.

Check out this page for the modernization program; click on PROJECT FACTS, then PROJECT, and you will see links to online versions of Diana’s handouts at the meeting.

Diana shared her PowerPoint with us for the online program. We recommend that you open her presentation in a new window by clicking here (it’s a big file, give it a few moments to load) and move back and forth to follow along as she talks about the major project coming to LAX.
