23 January 2017 — Ken Craft (live), Hope of the Valley

Effective July 1, 2016, by new Rotary International rule, Clubs must meet a minimum of twice each month, regardless of format (in person or online) or date/time. Accordingly, our Club has adopted a policy of two meetings per month, on a mid-month Monday at noon and the usual Fourth Sunday in-person meeting. If time and topic call for additional online Programs, we will be pleased to provide them.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26 — 12:30 pm to 2:00 pmOur FOURTH SUNDAY meeting for February! Speaker TBA. LOCATION: Denny’s Sherman Oaks, corner of Burbank and Sepulveda Boulevards. Board Meeting precedes main meeting.

Our Fourth Sunday gathering featured updates on our upcoming projects, two visiting Interactors, a visiting teacher trainee from Madrid with a Rotary-related background, and a former Rotary Youth Exchange student now studying for an advanced degree at UCLA.

And a very special guest speaker, long-time friend of the Club, and all-around good guy: Ken Craft, the CEO of Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission. Hope of the Valley has been a community partner for the Club throughout our history, and Ken was kind enough to give his time on one of the rainiest days of the year to row over to our meeting and catch us up on some fantastic developments at Hope of the Valley.

  1. He’s amazing and so is his organization.

  2. It was a great meeting! Ken works tirelessly with a dedicated staff to support so many. Hope of the Valley has done so much over the past 7 years. It was wonderful to hear that the benches our club built and delivered are being used regularly.
