22 October 2012 — October 24 is World Polio Day

This Sunday, 28 October, we will enjoy a visit with a large portion of the Rotary Club of Calabasas! They will bring their WAPIs for us to work together to finish off construction, and help people in water-challenged parts of the world.

A note to our Club Membership Development Committee…this means everybody in the Rotary Club!…stand by for specific plans within the next three days, for us to sort and choose and then implement.

The Drive for Twenty-Five, when we Barter for a Charter…is in progress!

October 24 is World Polio Day.  This week, please review these links, and the links within the links on the pages, for a comprehensive view of worldwide efforts to eradicate polio.

Make a pledge to yourself: on Wednesday, October 24 (or TODAY if you are viewing this program after Wednesday), when you meet a prospective Rotarian–a person with leadership skills, supervisory or entrepreneurial experience, a community leader, or all of the above–ask that person if he/she has ever played even a small part in the eradication of a disease from the planet.  “And would you like to?”

The Rotary.org news item has more links at the bottom, and great “related stories” at left.

Rotary’s dedicated End Polio Now page, pretty flashy, great information.

Remember our DANCE FOR THE CHILDREN!  (You can find our 2010, 2011, and 2012 videos elsewhere on our Club website.)

Global Citizen Festival and concert in New York City’s Central Park.
